What is Pipe Relining

Pipe Relining is a special type of no-dig technology that solves the problem of quickly and efficiently repairing broken or damaged pipes.

Pipes that can be Relined

It works on all types of pipe materials such as PVC, Copper, Cast Iron, Concrete and Clay Pipes as well as a range of sizes from 40mm and up.

The Pipe Relining Process

Pipe relining is a relatively straightforward 4 step process. The first step is to perform a CCTV drain camera inspection, secondly, we use a high-pressure water jet to clean the existing pipework. Then we prepare and insert the pipe lining, and finally we cure the pipe lining by either time, hot water or UV light.

1. How Long Will Pipe Relining Last?

This trenchless procedure of repairing pipes can be expected to last for as long as 25 years. But to get such results, you’ll have to ensure that the pipes and the surrounding plumbing system are subjected to routine check-ups.

2. Does The Work Come With Any Guarantee?

Generally, plumbing companies offer an installation warranty of 10 years on the liners used for the procedure. But apart from that, some provide a 25-year warranty on the service, further enhancing its reliability.

3. What Are The Type Of Pipes For Which Pipe Relining Can Be Used?

This procedure can be applied to several pipes such as stormwater, water mains, fire service, pool, concrete, copper, and sewer pipes. Thus, you can rest assured that professionals can rectify most pipe damages using this technique.

4. Does This Procedure Pose Any Issues For The Surroundings?

Due to ultraviolet light in the curing process, the pipes may sometimes release certain harmful chemicals into the soil. However, expert workmanship and design can eliminate or reduce this problem.

Speaking of the resin used, it is tested to be perfectly environment-friendly. That’s why your decision to reline one or more pipes doesn’t threaten the environment.

5. Can A Collapsed Pipe Be Relined?

Relining a wholly or partially collapsed pipe will require special equipment such as robotic cutters. This advanced tool helps grind away the collapsed sections of the pipe so that its internal diameter can be reopened.

If the company you’re hiring for the job has such equipment, they’ll very well be able to handle these issues. So, you must discuss this with them beforehand if you’re faced with such an issue.
